KITA BRANDING
Overview: Camp Kita is a tuition-free summer bereavement camp, located in Maine. It is open to children ages 8-17 who are survivors of a loved one's suicide. Visit thekitacenter.org for more info.
Deliverable: A redesigned logo that is a symbol of peace and healing, along with other branding elements for a refined sense of style.
A crane in the logo was used because it is a symbol of hope and healing. The bird is also in flight, representing change. Traditionally, it was believed that if one folded 1,000 origami cranes, one's wish would come true. It has become a symbol of hope and healing during challenging times. As a result, it has become popular to fold 1.000 cranes because there’s an old Japanese folklore story about how if you do that, and are unwell in any well, that folding these paper cranes will heal you of everything.
